one man's junk

new bed !
my husband has an incredible gift to turn sidewalk junk
into amazing creations

two pairs of feet - he put a 'lift kit' on our bed

with our new mattress too,
we're not "camping" anymore

remember this picture (28 Dec, 2012 post)?
that's the wood he used
you can even see our low bed in the background
thank you tonio !!!
beds in europe tend to be much lower
i grew up with the high bed + a box spring + the mattress
and i might add, my tall father even raised all the sinks in the house, too
30 cm makes such a HUGE difference =)
happy lindsey. happy back. sweet dreams.
i love my husband.

the outdoor market

in an attempt to do one thing every day that scares me a little,
i braved the outdoor market today...

with a wicker bag in hand,
fake ray bans, blonde wavy hair,
jeans, black vans, and a black coat,
i found les pamplemousses
(the grapefruit)

eyeing from a distance, so as not to look too interested,
i was caught off guard by the cute, old,
weathered man behind the stand,
who must have smelled of onions and oranges:
"Bonjour, ma fille !"

how could one not buy grapefruits from the man who says:
"Good morning my little darling !"

as i continued around to other stands,
he actually had the best grapefruit deals
there you go - my morning in town
suckered in by the sweet-talker

a horse is a horse of course...

of course,
And no one can talk to a horse of course
That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mister Ed.

Go right to the source and ask the horse
He'll give you the answer that you'll endorse.
He's always on a steady course.
Talk to Mister Ed.

People yakkity-yak the street and waste your time of day
But Mr. Ed will never speak unless he has something to say
A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And this one'll talk 'til his voice is hoarse.
You never heard of a talking horse?
Well listen to this: "I'm Mister Ed."

my day with coralie and her trusty steed, atari
i'm thankful that i got to get my boots dirty, smell some horse poop, and kiss some soft horsy noses this last week =)

i love my husband

here's a wife's opportunity to brag a bit...

he made me a bike from an abandoned (on the street) 70's Peugeot frame

he crafted these holes in his parents' kitchen for the stove vent

he's good with kids
(yes, one day...hold your horses !)

he's a great friend
this is his good buddy Niels,
daddy of that cute little guy above

he bought us a new mattress - yay !!!

he helped me prepare home-made chicken stock

and did i mention, he made me a bike !!!

this is the coolest ride - i turn heads
i mean, it's a stinkin' 70's Peugeot - AWESOME !!!

I praise the Lord for this incredible man in my life.
These little daily blessings floor me.
Thank you Jesus for Tonio.
