May 2018

Continuing the overview of 2018 with 10 pictures for each month.

May was an interesting month of transition for our family.  We moved into our new apartment on May 1st, which was quite a difficult task with two small people.  Thankfully, we have family and friends who made it a bit less overwhelming.  We unpacked and tried to figure out who would sleep where and what would go where (STILL working on that...eeeeek!).  We had some days at the sea, along the sea, at a wedding on the sea... hehe.

Overall, it was a transition.
Lots of new.
Lots of firsts.
Lots of crazy.
Lots of hard.
Lots of fun.

Papa teaching his son the joys of the sea.

Teething on rocks.

The explosion of unpacking.

A little stroll.

Django learns to drive.

We love Mamie.

Django takes up football and guitar.

I love my girl and her pensive, caring eyes.

Family photo from our friend's wedding, and Daphné wanted to be like the bride who had an off-the-shoulder dress.  She's just too much!

April 2018

It's funny how looking back on a month at a time can be so revealing.  April was a BIG DEAL.  I had kind of forgotten.  Walk with me as I remember...

Daphné won the Piston Cup!  Then she and Papa pretended to be Eskimos.

We got the keys to our new home!!!  CRAZY!!!

We have the most amazing co-signers, without whom we would not be able to rent this place.

Aunt Becky comes down from Grenoble to help us pack =)!  Thanks Becky!

I get to take a picture with a real-live lioness.  She was a pretty stinkin' cute one if you ask me.

In the midst of boxes and more boxes and last days at the day care, we squeeze in a few trips to the sea.

And a trip or two to the park... AND Papi found us!!! =)

We enjoy the springtime sea salt.

Daphné says goodbye to her old bedroom.  [I actually got a bit teary when I found this photo.]

Bye bye Gambetta.  We will always love you.  You were our newlywed nest.  We brought our two babies home to you.  You welcomed our friends and our families.  Your (many) quirks kept us on our toes.  You served us well for 7 1/2 years.  Thank you!

March 2018

Well, hello there!  If you've been following me recently, you know that I decided to do a 10-photo recap of the months of 2018.  I've done January and February, so now... MARCH 2018!

We drive up to Paris to me our new nephew and see his mama and papa's new houseboat!

Tonio runs a 1/2 marathon in Paris with his brother and good buddy Edgar (pictured).

Birthday party for Daphné's friend, Astor (in green).

Visit from Tata Cricri!

God provides a new home for us to rent!!!  Years of prayer answered!  Such a blessing.

I get to go to a women's retreat in the mountains!  Super refreshing in so many ways.

We start packing!  Can't forget the kids =)  Hehe!

Django gets a high chair and his first taste of spinach.

Our beautiful Daphné is becoming such a sweet little girl with some pretty great expressions.

The siblings are becoming friends!  It is so wonderful to see their little friendship forming already.

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
They cannot be numbered!
I can’t even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
you are still with me!
--Psalm 139:17-18

Her children rise up and call her blessed.
--Proverbs 31:28

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
--Romans 15:13

But Jesus called them to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.
--Luke 18:16

Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.
--Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Older women... that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
--Titus 2:4-5

A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance...
--Proverbs 15:13

The generous soul will be made rich,
And he who waters will also be watered himself.
--Proverbs 11:25

Set me as a seal upon your heart,
As a seal upon your arm;
For love is as strong as death,
Jealousy as cruel as the grave;
Its flames are flames of fire,
A most vehement flame.

Many waters cannot quench love,
Nor can the floods drown it.
If a man would give for love
All the wealth of his house,
It would be utterly despised.
--Song of Solomon 8:6-7

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
--Psalm 127:3
