cinnamon swirl bundt cake

bringing back the cinnamon
warning: very addicting


darlene taught me how to make this cake while i lived in cyprus
just bought a bundt pan from ikea, so i had to make it

as i type, i smell it in the kitchen...mmmmyummm....


if you'd like to give it a swirl, here's the recipe:

1 cup yogurt or sour cream (225g)
3/4 cup butter or margarine (180g)
1 1/2 cups sugar (300g)
2 1/2 cups flour (275g)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (if desired) - (50g)
1 t baking soda (1 c. à café)
1 t baking powder
1 t vanilla extract
3 eggs

separate cup or bowl:
1 T cinnamon (1 c. à soupe)
1/4 cup sugar (50g)

Heat oven to 400 degrees, 205C
Lightly grease pan
Cream 1 1/2 cups sugar together with eggs until well blended.
Add yogurt , butter and beat well.
Add flour, baking soda and baking powder mix well.
Stir in vanilla and walnuts.

Mix the remaining 1/4 cup sugar with cinnamon.

Pour half of the batter into the pan.
Sprinkle  with cinnamon sugar mixture.
Cover with remaining cake batter.
Bake at 400 degrees for 8 mins.
Lower heat to 350F (175C) and bake for about 40 mins.

 mix a tiny bit of milk with powdered sugar for the icing

 voilà

  2. Me too Steph - I like the little French cow...milk here is interesting. The way it's processed, it can be left on the shelf until opened. Makes it nice for storing - would come in handy for your family...hehe. Bisous (kisses) from Nice, Linz
