a quick recap of the past few days:

  • calvary chapel Nice team meeting with pierre and nancy
  • prayer night at church
  • café at church
  • date night - walk through Nice and a movie at home
  • lindsey cleaned church with a friend
  • 50th wedding anniversary for tonio's good friends' parents

  • 4th of July BBQ at an American couple's home
  • nancy's birthday picnic in villefranche

below are some pictures:

first, these are from our walk around Nice
(and so is the one at the top)
the houses are beautiful

old signs - love them, especially in French

tonio's old street - he lived here most of his life

it's the building after the one that his head is touching

these are from the 4th of july BBQ
(pierre spraying us with water)

and i took this one after our picnic on the beach for nancy's birthday
villefranche is gorgeous - we snorkeled, enjoyed the setting sun,
ate dinner, sang to nancy "joyeux anniversaire" and had cake =)

Lucéram

a mountain village outside of Nice
about 30 minutes
we went with jonathan and thomas,
friends from church

some friends of ours own this property and let us use it freely...
this was a reconnaissance trip - verdict - overgrown, but beautiful
it's nice to have access to the mountains to escape the city every once in a while

Nice at night

(Friends)

l'autre soir on est allés à Vieux Nice avec nos amis,
Guillaume, Marianne et la petite Cecille
(the other night we went to Old Nice with our friends...)

Cecille adore Tonio...Elle aime beaucoup faire du cheval sur ses épaules.
(Cecille loves Tonio...She really likes to ride horses on his shoulders.)

reconnaissants
(thankful)

teamwork

the joy of marriage

these past few days i've been pretty sick
headache, sinus cold, weak, the whole deal
and the 10 mosquito bites on my left leg don't help either

my husband is wonderful
he has made me chicken noodle soup
did the grocery shopping for us
put the groceries away
has helped so much with dishes
and on top of all that...
bought me a beautiful bouquet of red roses

he keeps reminding me that we are a team
sometimes i forget that
it's such a crazy picture of God's love for us
we're not alone in this adventure

of course some days are harder than others
but each morning brings new mercies

i'm so thankful for my husband
i'm so thankful for Jesus Christ in my life,
in his life, in our lives together

thank you Jesus !

"Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever."
