CANNES, France

Tonio worked a "back-to-back" shift at the hotel,

so we got to stay in one of the rooms Sunday night for FREE !

this was my first time exploring Cannes

 

so, as Tonio worked

 I walked around town

 

I brought us back lunch to eat together

and also dinner

for you Space Invader fans

lit up trees at night

fireworks show

I'm very proud of my husband.

He's a faithful and hard worker.

AND he's so great with the clients.

I love to eavesdrop from the other room to hear him checking in clients.

He's so professional.

Thankful for little moments like these,

though, of course, it would have been WAY better 

if Tonio could have explored with me.

I like him =).

carnaval

halloween + circus + confetti + silly string + 10 days = Carnaval

(oh, and tons of tourists, closed streets, traffic and big buses)

lots of parades

 and weird floats

i won't lie...

i enjoy "not" buying tickets and getting a 'glimpse'

with all the other cheap skates

and of course, you can buy a "made in china" hello kitty 

or spider man for a small chunk of change

as you can hear from my cynical tone,

Carnaval, in my mind, is not all it's cracked up to be

BUT...

they put on the BEST fireworks show at the end

weather permitting, that will be tomorrow night and i can't wait

it's better than any fireworks show i've ever seen

Nice spares no expense, and it shows

see you all tomorrow night !

Nice does an incredible job every year at the end of Carnival.

Carnival is the celebration before lent...Mardi Gras.

We hope you enjoy the GRAND FINALE as much as we did.

These are the best fireworks I've ever seen.
