My husband teaching God's Word

I think my favorite part about being a wife is being my husband's cheerleader.  Believe it or not, I was actually once a cheerleader for 2 years... just in junior high school, but I did the whole bit, the songs, the chants, the dances, the formations, the pom poms.... HA!  You can laugh too.

Anyways, being a cheerleader to my husband is much different than cheering on our little Christian school junior high basketball team.  Duh.

It's a more hidden, more deep support, and much of it is by prayer.  I pray often for my husband that he be the leader God wants him to be for our family and that he grow into the Bible teacher I know God is calling him to be.  So today's cheering is a bit less hidden, a bit more public.

Have you ever heard Tonio teach on a Sunday morning?!!!  You're in luck.  This teaching is in French, but translated by Nancy into English.  You can listen HERE.  He's teaching the end of the book of Hebrews, in particular Hebrews 13:8-25.

A few nuggets, I've taken away from the teaching:
-Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.
-Be careful about "new" ideas about Jesus.
-Jesus is the final sacrifice for my sins... I don't have to offer a goat or lamb every Sunday to be sanctified... Jesus did it once and for all!
-I don't have to do good works to be saved.
- Sing to God!  He loves it!

You can also save the mp3 (by right clicking on "Ecouter") and listen to it later while driving or running or just relaxing at home.  Here is the list of teachings.  This particular one is from July 23, 2017 (23/07/17).

Faithfully teaching through the Bible.  In fact, we only have 5 more classes left out of 24!

We are thankful and blessed to be able to do what we do.

Calvary Chapel Nice

Welcome to our Sunday morning service, 30 November, 2014.

Tonio led worship.

He did the announcements.

AND he taught.  I did sound.

Pierre led communion.

Tonio taught on the beginning of Luke 14.  My take-away : follow Jesus' example of humility and put others before myself.  Easier said than done - I'm so selfish, but thankfully, God is patient with me.  I'm always so challenged and encouraged when my husband teaches.  God has surely given him a gift to rightly divide the Word of Truth !  I'm a proud and thankful wife.

I thought it very appropriate that my communion bread was shaped like a cross.  Every time I take communion, I picture Jesus on the cross thinking about me.  I know I have lots of pregnancy hormones going on right now, but I get tears in my eyes.  To think that the God of the universe sent His ONLY Son to earth as a baby, to live among sinners like me, then die for not only MY sins but the sins of the whole world.  Learn more HERE.  Thank you Jesus.  May my life be an example of your love.

I'm still on bed rest, but it was so nice to go to church to see everyone.  I stayed sitting, don't worry.  As I type this Monday afternoon, it's raining... still... I can't complain, because my family in California has been praying for some real rain for 3 years.  Here is an interesting LINK that gives you a clue of just HOW much rain we've gotten, beaten all records.  We might just have to take little bébé P (once born, of course) up to the mountains to see some incredible snow.

Thanks for reading the blog.

Luke 13:1-17

Tonio taught yesterday at church on Luke 13:1-17.  Sadly, I was not there, but I did get to pray for him.  Today I listened to the message online.  For those of you who speak French, you can listen too.  CLICK HERE.

My take away : we tend to classify sins as some being worse than others, but they all separate us from God.  He sees them all the same.  I should not have little sins that I justify in thinking that they aren't really that bad.

Challenge : pick someone that you want to bless this week with a phone call, a note, praying for them, etc...

I'm thankful for my husband and his God-given gift to teach.

Sunday morning

2 pictures from yesterday morning at Calvary Chapel Nice

Leading worship with my man.  I love when he plays the cajon with me and sings harmony.  We are singing "Better is One Day" in French.

Tonio's 5th time teaching on a Sunday morning.  He finished up Luke 11.  My take-away was to make sure I'm clean from the inside-out, so I can shine {practically in others' lives, not just with words or posting scriptures on facebook} for Jesus.  You can listen HERE in French.

We are blessed.  Tired.  Thankful.

Sunday

My husband taught again for the 4th Sunday in a row.  He has been continuing where Pierre left off in the gospel of Luke.  This week, we finished Luke 10 with the story of the Good Samaritan and the story of Mary at Jesus' feet.

You can listen in French HERE !

I'm a really proud wife, not because I think Tonio's arrived or because I think he should take over for his dad...  On the contrary, I'm so proud of him, because I know he is being obedient right now.  And that's all.  Jesus, thank you for a husband who listens to You, even when it seems confusing to us.

thé pour les femmes

women's tea

Car Tu es mon secours,
et je crie de joie à l'ombre {à l'abri} de Tes ailes.
-Psaume 63:8

Because You have been my help,
therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
-Psalms 63:7

Beautiful decorations by an artist in the church.

Leading worship by yours truly - always thankful to lead people to Jesus' feet.

It's fun hearing all ladies' voices.

 The gals.

Corinne translates into French for Mardee.

Pretty nice turnout for a Saturday morning.

I think everyone learned more about the lifeline that God's Word is in our lives.

 A few announcements by Nancy.

Christine translates into French for Debbie.

Nancy and I grabbed a whole pile of Bibles and books from the bookstore this week.

"We bring the bookstore to you" should be our motto.

 More beautiful decorations.

Nancy, Debbie, Corinne, Mardee, Christine // the teachers and translators

And why not... "Lindsey, get in there for a picture !"
I succeeded in getting an arrow through the head - yes - haha.

I'm really thankful for today.
I was reminded how important it is to read God's Word everyday and spend time with Him.  For without Him, what do I have?  Nothing.  He is my hope, my joy, my life, my peace.  I love my Heavenly Daddy.

If you'd like to listen to the teachings, they should be on this site within the next week or so.  Keep checking back.  And good news, it's in English AND French.
